The Bluebird Story
Bluebird Real Estate was born out of rebellion. Growing up on the floor of a real estate office, I couldn’t imagine ever being one of those desk people with fluffy hair making cold calls to strangers for a living. Thus, I pursued what I felt were nobler pursuits. At the University of Portland, I had a triple major in theology, philosophy and history in hopes of teaching ethics and logic at the college level. However, I realized fairly quickly that I didn’t like writing papers and reading made me drowsy, so I wandered off to explore the world and find my place in it.
After finding myself at many dead-ends in the food and wine industries, I felt stuck. Not knowing how else to change my situation, I complained and, lucky for me, I complained to the right people. A good friend of mine, who was then and still is, a talented Realtor, encouraged me to join her company. I immediately had flashbacks of polyester suits and the tacky property flyers I made as a kid, so I whined and resisted. However, without any better options presenting themselves, I eventually caved, tucked my tail and started a career path that would change my life.
Little did I know at the time that this job is what you make of it. I was not destined or required to wear a suit, talk to reluctant strangers or go to motivational seminars. In fact, my distaste for what I had seen as a child fueled a creative streak to rethink and rework the way real estate was traditionally practiced. If you see how Realtors are portrayed in the media, it’s clear that they are not respected by the general public. The way things have always been done is not only undesirable, it is also inefficient and often not focused on what is best for the client, the community and the land.
Therefore, I am a rebel and proud of it. Bluebird Real Estate’s mission is to serve the public by assisting with the thoughtful, educated and safe transfer of private real estate. I am not a salesperson. I am here to advise you, befriend you and support you in order that you might be successful in your real estate and other life goals.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me.
